Before adulthood
It is what I want to do
Not what others want

Then enlightenment
Perhaps we understand it
It ain't always so

There's death and taxes
And what we want from others
It is always so

To get what you want
Use assets and connections
Which require others

The adolescent
Believes in autonomy
It is rarely so.
